Mukilteo T-Dock (Lighthouse Park)

A long-running training and night-dive site beside the Mukilteo ferry terminal and Lighthouse Park, entered from the beach next to the Silver Cloud Inn. A gradual sand slope passes pilings and placed attractions - most famously a PVC-pipe geodome at roughly 50-70 ft - and keeps dropping past 100 ft, making it popular for deep and tech training as well as open-water classes. The original T-shaped dock was removed during ferry terminal construction in the mid-2010s, but the geodome, debris reef and abundant critters remain.

Seacrest cove 2

Seacrest Cove 2 ('Alki Cove 2') at Seacrest Park in West Seattle is one of the most-dived sites in Washington and the unofficial heart of Seattle's dive community. A gradual rocky slope descends past artificial structures - the famous Honey Bear wreck around 35 ft, I-beams, small boat wrecks and junk piles - that shelter the site's headline residents: giant Pacific octopuses. The cove lies within the WDFW Alki Beach Seacrest Coves 1, 2 and 3 octopus-harvest preserve, created after a controversial 2012 octopus take here. Easy stair-and-beach entry, minimal current, free street parking and city skyline views make it ideal for training and night dives, but it is genuinely cold - drysuits are the norm.

Titlow Beach

A marine preserve at Titlow Park on the Tacoma Narrows, where the pilings of an old ferry dock are carpeted in white plumose anemones. Most of the dive sits in 25-40 ft over the piling field, a decayed barge and a bottle field, with small rock ledges to the south that hold wolf eels. Because the site sits in the Narrows it must be dived at slack using Tacoma Narrows current (not tide) tables, but at slack it is an easy, life-rich beginner dive.
