Three Sisters (Daymaniyat Islands)

Muscat · 5–22 m

A signature Daymaniyat dive on three rocky outcrops within the nature reserve, about 18 km offshore from the Muscat coast. Sloping reef and boulder terrain runs from the shallows to roughly 20-22 m, decorated with hard and soft coral and frequently patrolled by turtles, rays and large schools of fish. Conditions are usually easy with low to moderate current, making it a favourite for both training and fun dives. Marine life density is high and whale sharks pass through in the warmer months.

Aquarium (Daymaniyat Islands)

Muscat · 7–24 m

A submerged rock pinnacle lying roughly 4 km south of the easternmost Daymaniyat island (Hayut), just outside the formal nature-reserve boundary, reached by a 45-60 minute boat ride from Muscat marinas. Divers descend the mooring line to the top of the rock at about 7 m and follow the wall north or south over a sand chute down to a plateau at 22-24 m. It earns its name from dense schools of snapper, jacks, batfish, barracuda and red-toothed triggerfish that crowd the rock, with turtles and rays on the sand. Currents are usually mild and visibility is good in summer, making it suitable for most certified divers.

Bandar Khayran

Muscat · 5–30 m

A sheltered network of bays and inlets about 25 km southeast of Muscat holding more than 20 dive sites, from shallow coral gardens and swim-throughs to small walls dropping to around 25 m. The area is best known for the purpose-sunk Al Munassir, a 3,000-ton former Omani naval vessel lying upright at 26-30 m and packed with fish, plus reef sites such as Turtle City. Calm, protected water and easy profiles make it an excellent training and macro destination, with nudibranchs and seasonal whale sharks. Most diving is by boat, with some sites accessible from small craft close to shore.

Eagle Bay (Mirbat)

Dhofar · 3–18 m

A shore-accessible bay near Mirbat, about a 45-minute drive east of Salalah, and one of the main dive sites of the Dhofar coast. Easy entry leads onto coral gardens in shallow, sunlit water down to roughly 18 m, ideal for the rich macro life Mirbat is known for. Divers find nudibranchs, flatworms, shrimp, octopus, morays and stonefish among the coral, with rays, turtles and barracuda passing in the blue. Conditions are easiest in the cooler season; summer brings the southwest monsoon (khareef) and rough, plankton-rich water.
