The wooden bulk freighter Continental stranded in a blinding December 1904 snowstorm after missing the course change at Twin Rivers Point; her crew reached shore safely and ice destroyed the hull over the winter. The wreckage now lies scattered in 0-15 feet of water 1.5 miles north of Rawley Point Lighthouse off Point Beach State Forest. It is an easy snorkel or shallow dive on calm days, best reached by a beach walk and swim or by kayak.

The main scuba spot on Lake Lanier near Buford Dam, with two diveable areas known locally as Mask Cove and Divers Cove. The training cove is closed to boat traffic, with a hazard buoy in about 25 ft of water and a pair of large concrete blocks to navigate to. Atlanta-area shops use it constantly for open water checkouts, rescue scenarios and DPV/drysuit training; visibility is low and the water cold below the thermocline.

Montana's third-largest body of water, a Missouri River reservoir downstream of the Three Forks confluence, completed in 1954. Three marina concessions (Goose Bay, Kim's, and Yacht Basin) provide services, and local divers use the reservoir for fun dives, though clarity is limited and not ideal for new-diver open-water training. The rocky and silty bottom holds abundant warm-water and cold-water fish.

The Hesper was a 250-foot wooden bulk freighter that sank in a May 1905 storm and now lies broken alongside the west breakwater of Silver Bay's marina in roughly 15-50 feet of water. Two main hull sections with scattered timbers, framing and machinery make it one of Minnesota's most accessible Lake Superior wrecks, divable from shore off the breakwall or from a boat using the GLSPS mooring. Its shallow depth and easy navigation make it a favorite first Lake Superior wreck, provided divers are equipped for very cold fresh water.
