About PickADive
PickADive is a free, agency-neutral place to find scuba dive sites, compare them, and plan around measured conditions history. No account is needed to use it.
What it is
A map and directory of 4,800+ public dive sites across 127 countries, each with depth, access, and difficulty where recorded, diver reviews and photos, and a correction tool on every page. Site pages also show forecast-derived condition outlooks and historical seasonality computed from measured data — planning aids, never a judgment that a particular dive is advisable. The decision is always the diver’s.
Where the data comes from
- Dive sites: OpenStreetMap (ODbL), Wikidata, and NOAA’s public artificial-reef records, merged, de-duplicated, and passed through a quality gate before a page is published. Divers add and correct sites directly.
- Conditions: open marine and weather forecasts, NOAA CO-OPS tide predictions where a station is nearby, and our own multi-year climatology built from that history.
- Marine life: GBIF occurrence records for species seasonality — regional sighting patterns, never site-specific promises.

Who makes it
PickADive is independently built and maintained, and it is agency-neutral by design: listings and nearby-shop facts are not sponsored placements, and no operator pays for position.
