Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy
Effective: August 22, 2026
This policy supplements our Privacy Policy and describes how PickADive handles data that laws such as Washington’s My Health My Data Act and Nevada’s consumer health data law may treat as “consumer health data.” It applies to everyone who uses PickADive, wherever you live.
What we collect, and where it comes from
- Apple Health dive workouts — only if you choose to import from Apple Watch. We request read-only access and read dive workouts (depth and water temperature) to add them to your dive log. Apple Health does not let apps request only dive workouts, so the permission covers workouts generally — we read only dive workouts and ignore everything else. We never write to Apple Health.
- Dive-log profiles — depth and temperature profiles you record, import from dive-log files you open, or download from your own dive computer over Bluetooth.
All of it comes from you: your explicit imports, your device, and your own equipment. We do not buy, infer, or derive health data from any other source.
Why we collect it
One purpose: building the dive log you asked for. Imported values become part of your dive log and, when you are signed in, sync to your account like any other logged dive. Health data is never used for advertising, marketing, or use-based data mining, and we never sell it or disclose it to any third party for that party’s own purposes.
Who can access it
Your dive data is stored on your device first. When you are signed in, it is mirrored to the infrastructure providers that run PickADive (our cloud database and hosting providers), acting only on our instructions and solely to store and sync your logbook. We do not share consumer health data with affiliates, advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party for their own use, and we do not sell it. There is no processing that would require a separate sale authorization.
Your rights and how to exercise them
- Withdraw consent— revoke Health access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Health → PickADive. Imports stop immediately; dives already in your log stay until you delete them.
- Delete — delete individual dives in the app, or delete your entire account (Profile → Delete Account), which removes your synced dive data from our systems.
- Access — your dive log is visible in the app; for a copy of the data associated with your account, email us.
- Questions or appeals — email privacy@pickadive.com. If we decline a request, you may reply to appeal and we will take a second look; you may also contact your state attorney general.
