Data Sources & Attribution

PickADive is built on open data, and the communities behind these sources deserve the credit. This page lists every external data source we use and its license. Forecasts and observations are planning context only — always verify conditions on site.

GBIF — Diveboard: scuba diving citizen-science observations

Marine-life sighting records near dive sites, and the month-by-month sighting patterns on site pages, come from the Diveboard citizen-science dataset published on GBIF (the Global Biodiversity Information Facility), accessed through the GBIF occurrence API.

iNaturalist

Some species photos come from iNaturalist contributors. Each photo is used under the license its photographer chose; the photographer and license are credited beside every photo, linked to the original observation.
