PickADive lists 19 Fiji dive sites across five regions — Taveuni, Beqa Lagoon, Bligh Water, Namena and Kadavu. Namena is a 70 km² community-managed no-take reserve dating from 1997, and its flagship sites, Chimneys and North Save-a-Tack, are in the catalog; Kadavu’s Naiqoro Passage sits on the Great Astrolabe Reef. Common questions about diving in Fiji

How do you get to Fiji’s dive regions?

International flights land at Nadi (NAN) on the main island. Beqa Lagoon is dived from Pacific Harbour by road; Taveuni is a domestic flight of roughly 1 h 20 min to Matei, and Kadavu about 45 minutes to Vunisea with two or three flights a week; Namena is reached by boat from the Savusavu resorts. We found no scheduled ferry serving these regions.

When is the best time to dive Fiji?

Across 19 Fiji sites our climatology scores December through April highest, with 82–95% of sampled days in the favorable band and water around 28–30 °C. August and September are the low point at roughly 50%, with water near 26 °C. These are historical patterns from measured conditions — not a forecast, never a guarantee.

What is the Namena Marine Reserve?

A 70 km² no-take marine reserve around Namena Island, community-managed since 1997. Divers pay a voluntary dive-tag fee that funds the reserve’s wardens. Chimneys, North Save-a-Tack and Grand Central Station are the listed sites inside it.

Are Fiji’s dive sites boat dives?

Getting to Fiji

Fly into Nadi International Airport (NAN). Divers base themselves in Pacific Harbour (Beqa Lagoon), Savusavu (Namena), Matei on Taveuni, Vunisea on Kadavu.

Domestic flights Nadi → Matei (about 1 h 20 min) and Nadi → Vunisea (about 45 min, two or three a week); Namena by boat from Savusavu. We found no scheduled ferry to the dive regions.
