Local sources describe it as one of the Ensenada area's go-to spots for shore diving and training, with kelp and rocky reef inside a cove whose reefs are protected from open-ocean currents, while a wall heading toward 27 m gives experienced divers more to do. The water stays cold: one diver reported roughly 12 C (53 F) even in May, so a 7 mm wetsuit with hood and gloves, or a drysuit, is the norm, and most visitors arrive with Ensenada or Rosarito operators who arrange access through the camp.
