Site details

El Mina is a roughly 70 m Soviet-built T43-class minesweeper of the Egyptian Navy that was sunk by Israeli aircraft while moored off Hurghada harbour during the 1970 War of Attrition. She lies on her port side on a rocky seabed sloping from about 25 m at the bow to 32 m at the stern. Just a short boat ride from Hurghada, she is one of Egypt's most accessible warship wrecks and is now colonised by glassfish and lionfish.
