A spring-fed 10-acre former quarry near Athens operated as a private scuba diving resort. The clear water holds more than 40 sunken attractions including boats, jet skis, statues and training platforms, and the quarry is famous for its resident paddlefish. A sharp summer thermocline sits around 25-30 ft, with surface temperatures reaching the 80s F.
