Ras Katy is the first dive site reached from the main marina at Sharm el Mina, with boats mooring between the fringing reef and a main pinnacle that rises to the surface. The shallow, calm conditions make it popular for training and snorkeling.

A reef dive about 11km from Naama Bay, directly south of Ras Ghamila, whose Arabic name means 'Christian Cape'. The reef drops from shallow bays into a wall descending past 60m, riddled with caves and overhangs, and can be dived as a drift, semi-drift or from a mooring depending on current.

Ras Umm Sid is a headland reef on the Hadaba coast known for a dense column of gorgonian sea fans descending from roughly 14 to 28 m. A wall drops from the surface to about 18 m, forming a plateau that runs out to the drop-off, while a gentle reef slope makes the shallows accessible to beginners. Schools of barracuda and snapper gather at the corner where currents meet, with whale sharks and hammerheads possible in summer.

A striking wall dive at the southern entrance of Marsa Bareika bay, directly across from Ras Ghozlani; the Arabic name translates roughly as 'Head of Thyme'. The reef wall, dotted with caves and overhangs, is a good place to encounter large tuna, barracuda and jackfish, with cruising grey reef sharks in summer.

Reeks Reef is a coral reef dive on the coast between central Dahab and the Blue Hole, offering a sloping coral garden and reef edge. It is a quieter alternative to the busy main-bay sites.

The Saddle is the shallow reef notch, around 6-8 m deep, that connects the Blue Hole to the open sea. Divers drifting from the Bells cross the saddle to drop into the Blue Hole, and it is also where snorkelers and many recreational divers enter the hole.

A large coral reef and lagoon system, also known as Beacon Rock, lying roughly 7 miles west of Ras Mohammed National Park and fringing the southern tip of a large sheltered lagoon. The complex offers a mix of sheltered lagoon diving and exposed outer reef, and is the location of the celebrated SS Dunraven wreck on its southern edge.

The most northerly dive of Ras Mohammed National Park, named for the clifftop lookout above it, located at the southern entrance to Marsa Bareika bay. Here the steep wall of Ras Mohammed, riddled with caves and overhangs, meets the gentle slope of the bay, offering wall diving with good coral cover and the chance of passing pelagics.

Shark's Bay is a sheltered bay north of Naama Bay used both as a shore-access house reef and a boat site. A sandy bay opens onto a coral reef with a canyon and drop-off, suitable for training in the shallows and easy exploration deeper along the wall. Despite the name, it is a calm site rather than a shark hotspot.

One of two navigable passages cutting through the Sha'ab Mahmud reef, running northwest to southeast and separating a sandy inner lagoon from the open sea. The channel is very shallow, with a maximum depth around 6m and reef walls roughly 2m high, and is typically dived as a tidal drift from the outer reef into the calm lagoon.

Sodfa lies just northeast of the better-known Tower and is an easy drift dive over a broad plateau. The plateau extends down from about 8 m, scattered with coral pinnacles, to roughly 20 m where gorgonian sea fans line the drop-off. From March to the end of June it is a known hangout for passing manta rays and the occasional whitetip reef shark.

South Oasis is a reef dive in the southern Dahab stretch toward Gabr El Bint, offering a sloping coral garden and pinnacles in a quieter, less-visited part of the coast reached by boat or camel.

A British steam-and-sail cargo ship built in Newcastle in 1873 that struck the reef of Sha'ab Mahmud (Beacon Rock) in 1876 while returning from Bombay; all crew survived. The 80m hull now lies upside down in two sections against the reef wall, with the bow at about 15m and the stern on the seabed near 29m, penetrable through three large openings and heavily encrusted with glassfish and soft coral.

A sheltered cluster of coral pinnacles, also known as Saba Erg or Stingray Station, strung east-west for about 1.5 miles along the southern edge of Sha'ab Mahmud beside a sandy lagoon averaging around 10m. The protected location makes it a popular alternative dive when the open sea is unfavourable, with the classic route circling the two central mooring pinnacles amid abundant coral and fish.

The Bells is a narrow breach in the reef table forming a chimney that divers descend through, exiting around 27-30 m onto a sheer vertical wall. It is the classic starting point for a drift dive along the reef wall that finishes by crossing the saddle into the Blue Hole.

The Caves lies about 15 km south of Dahab and is the last site reachable by car before the road gives way and camels take over toward Gabr El Bint. It features small caves and swim-throughs in the reef along a sloping wall.

The Islands is a maze of underwater coral pinnacles and pools south of Mashraba, connected by sandy channels through cabbage, brain and labyrinth coral. The maximum depth is around 20-22 m, and the wide reef plateau is best negotiated at high tide.

The smallest of the four Tiran reefs but considered the most marine-life-rich, typically dived as a drift on its current-swept walls. Its celebrated 'Thomas Arches' are a series of deep coral arches beginning around 35m and descending to roughly 90m, reserved for technical divers, while strong and shifting currents make even the recreational profile demanding.

Tower is a dramatic Hadaba-coast site centered on a deep U-shaped canyon whose vertical walls plunge well over 100 m. Divers follow the sheer wall and then a gently sloping reef, often continuing onto the neighbouring Sodfa plateau with its delicate fan corals. The vertical relief and rich reef life make it a popular local wall dive.
