Eagle's Nest

Eagle's Nest is a remote sinkhole in the Chassahowitzka Wildlife Management Area near Weeki Wachee, often called the 'Mount Everest of cave diving.' An unassuming pond drops through a narrow chute into an enormous ballroom and deep upstream/downstream tunnels mapped to 310 ft. It is acclaimed as one of the deadliest cave-diving sites in the world, with more than ten fatalities since 1981, and is restricted to fully cave-certified divers who register with FWC for each dive.

Fort Pickens Jetties

The Fort Pickens Jetties at the western tip of Santa Rosa Island are one of the most popular shore dives in the Florida Panhandle, located within Gulf Islands National Seashore beside the historic 1834 fort. From the seawall steps a gradual sandy slope leads along the rock jetty to about 50 feet, past concrete culverts and scattered artificial habitat that shelter a remarkable density of fish. The site sits in an aquatic preserve at the edge of Pensacola Pass, so slack-tide timing is essential.

Ginnie Spring

Ginnie Spring is the flagship spring of the privately owned Ginnie Springs Outdoors park on the Santa Fe River and one of the most famous freshwater dive sites in the USA. Open water divers can enter the Ballroom, a large grated cavern reaching about 50 ft with exceptional clarity, while the adjacent Devil's Eye/Devil's Ear system offers world-class cave diving for certified cave divers. The park offers camping, on-site air/nitrox fills, gear rental and 24-hour diving for guests.

Ichetucknee Spring

Blue Hole (Jug) Spring is the only divable site in Ichetucknee Springs State Park and the largest spring on the Ichetucknee River. A short swim across the shallow basin leads to a cave entrance about 40 ft down, with nearly 600 ft of mapped passage beyond. The park permits cavern- and cave-certified divers only — no open water diving — with mandatory registration at the North Ranger Station and a half-mile trail carry to the water.

Jackson Blue Spring

Jackson Blue Spring is a first-magnitude spring at the head of Merritt's Mill Pond near Marianna and one of the most popular full-cave dives in the United States. The entrance at the main vent leads into miles of mostly large, clear, white-limestone passage with notable flow, commonly dived with stages and DPVs. Access is by permit through Cave Adventurers with a gate code for year-round entry; the basin doubles as a county swim park in summer.

John D MacArthur Beach State Park

John D. MacArthur Beach State Park on Singer Island protects a rare stretch of natural barrier-island habitat with a 125,000-year-old Anastasia limestone rock reef lying just off the sand. The shallow, hole-pitted reef — built up by colonies of sabellariid reef-building tube worms — is easily reached from shore and visible from the surface, making it one of Palm Beach County's best beach snorkels. Depths are only a few feet, so timing around high tide and calm surf matters, and a dive flag is mandatory because boats work close to the reef.

Juniper Springs

Juniper Springs is a historic CCC-era swimming spring in the Ocala National Forest, with a stone millhouse and a famous 7-mile paddling run. It is a swim/snorkel site only: scuba diving is prohibited (Alexander Springs is the only spring in the forest where diving is allowed) and the pool reaches only about 8 ft deep.
