West Oahu shore dive and snorkel site centered on the Kahe power-plant discharge pipe and nearby reef. Warm discharge water and reef structure attract turtles, rays, reef fish, and macro life. It is easy in calm conditions but the pipe outflow and boat traffic make it more than a casual beginner site.

West Lake Okoboji is a 3,800+ acre glacial lake and the clearest, deepest natural lake in Iowa, with visibility ranging from about 12 ft in summer to 40-70 ft in winter and early spring. Popular dives include three submerged pipelines (Pillsbury Point, the Milford Tower and The Inn), a truck that fell through the ice in the 1940s in Smith's Bay, scattered boat remains, and rocky points with drop-offs. Most aquatic life is seen between 10 and 40 ft, though the lake bottoms out around 136 ft.

A 1.3-acre, 3.5-million-gallon spring-fed pool in the Chihuahuan Desert of West Texas, built by the CCC in the 1930s over San Solomon Springs. The artesian spring pumps clear 72-76 F water year-round, giving 25 ft depths with excellent visibility and two endangered desert fish species. After multi-year renovations the park is fully reopened, and scuba is allowed daily for certified divers who sign the park diving agreement.

Lugano is a 350-foot British iron cargo steamer on Long Reef in Biscayne National Park's Maritime Heritage Trail. The wreck lies in about 25 ft / 7.6 m and is best treated as a shallow protected archaeological wreck on reef, not a penetration dive. Expect low-profile iron hull and frame remains with reef growth and fish life.

The wooden steamer Marquette (1881) foundered in 1903 while trying to reach Michigan Island and lies in 215 ft of Lake Superior water about five miles east of the island. Its superstructure tore free in the sinking; the hull is progressively broken from the nearly intact bow to the stern, with an upright engine and propeller, much of it covered in iron ore cargo. Located in 2004 and documented in 2006 by GLSPS divers — an extremely cold, remote trimix dive for expert teams only.
