A 468-foot tanker torpedoed by U-71 on March 26, 1942, now lying about 15 miles south of Hatteras Inlet on a flat sand plain in 90 ft (27 m). High-relief bow and stern sections attract sand tiger sharks, making it one of Hatteras's signature wreck dives.
