A 406-foot luxury passenger-freighter lost in an August 1918 collision with the tanker SS Cushing, resting about 23 miles south of Hatteras Inlet in 120-125 ft (38 m) near the edge of the Gulf Stream. Massive boilers, a triple-expansion engine, and a large propeller with ten-foot blades mark the coral-covered wreckage.
