Site details

Sparkman is one of five World War II Liberty ships sunk off the Alabama coast in 1974, identified by divers as the Daniel Huger (hull #129). Each of these cargo ships is over 400 feet long and rests in roughly 80-100 feet of water 8-20 nautical miles offshore from Perdido Pass. The massive, decades-old structure draws schooling spadefish, amberjack and snapper and offers atmospheric backdrops for wreck photography.
