Site details

Gorgon I is a shallow, easily accessed reef dive in the Aqaba Marine Park, named for two large gorgonian sea fans found on the site. The reef carpets a gentle slope to about 18 m with dense hard and soft coral cover and clear water, making it well suited to beginner and newly certified divers. Shallow pinnacles host moray eels, lionfish and coral groupers.

Generally benign; lionfish and stonefish present; shallow coral pinnacles require good buoyancy to avoid contact.
